Our Story

Crafted with Purpose, Distilled with Pride

LJ Thorne Distilling Company Kansas Small-Batch Bourbon Whiskey bottle

At LJ Thorne Distilling Company, Jim Thorne makes Bourbon Whiskey from the grain up. He grinds the corn, rolls the barley and rye, and cooks the mash. He transfers the liquid from the mash into a large fermentation vat, and six days later transfers this into a 75-gallon copper still for distillation. After two distillations, he transfers the distilled spirits into new charred oak barrels to age for at least two years until ready to bottle.

It's a smooth whiskey perfect for sipping while watching the beautiful Kansas sunset.
